Summary:
Caribbean Women in Leadership (CIWiL) is a non-partisan and independent non-governmental organization, established to monitor, strengthen and increase women’s participation in politics, leadership and decision-making roles across the region through advocacy, networking, research and capacity building. CIWiL’s work focuses on women’s access to political leadership, decision making and leadership roles in public life across the region. In October 2019 CIWiL hosted a training with women leaders across St. Kitts and Nevis, focused on transformational leadership as well as communications skills for effective public and political leadership. As a follow up to this training, and in light of the holding of National Elections, CIWiL proposes to host a webinar session on Managing a Winning Campaign. The session will engage women who have themselves been previous candidates and focus on providing information to candidates and their support teams as they continue preparations for participation in the political process. The main objective is to disseminate information on successful political campaigning, strategies for female candidates, their support teams and national chapter members.
