LADY A. ANANDE TROTMAN-JOSEPH

Lady A. Anande Trotman-Joseph is the previous President of the Caribbean Women in Leadership (CIWiL).

She is also a practicing Attorney at Law and a Founding Partner of the Law Firm of Chapman and Trotman, and the Managing Partner of the Law Firm of Joseph & Joseph. She is a former Solicitor General of Grenada and is the Immediate Past President of the Grenada Bar Association.

Lady Trotman-Joseph is the current Chairperson of Grenada’s Integrity Commission and is a past Chairperson of the Commonwealth Caribbean Association of Integrity Associations and Anti-Corruption Bodies (CCAICACB) and continues to serve on its Executive.

LEBRECHTTA NANA OYE HESSE-BAYNE

L. Nana Oye Hesse-Bayne is the founder and Executive Director of Shidaa Sustainable Development Solutions Ltd, a socio-economic consulting firm based in Trinidad and Tobago. Her career commenced in the NGO sector managing projects to build the capacity of urban women to hold their Representatives accountable.

Nana worked with CIWiL from the inception of its Secretariat. She is eager to continue the ongoing work of gender equality and women’s leadership for CIWiL.

CHARLENE PAUL

By profession Charlene is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, United Kingdom and the Bahamas Institute of Chartered Accounts; having served as an Executive in the Financial Services Industry for more than 30 years. Her contributions to Country include work with NGOs, including founding President of Virtuous Young Women and S.M.A.R.T. Women and founding executive of Avenue of Hope (a Women’s Teen Challenge).

HAZEL BRANDY-WILLIAMS

Hazel Brandy-Williams has served as the Minister of Health and Gender Affairs for the Nevis Island Administration in the Island of St. Christopher and Nevis. Additionally, she has held the primary responsibility for the Ministries of Social Development, Youth, Sports, Community Development, Basic Needs Trust Fund (BNTF) Unit and Sustainable Human Development.

She is a founding member of the CIWiL St. Kitts and Nevis National Chapter, and is energetic about advancing advocacy for women and girls.

LEAH THOMPSON

Leah Thompson is an attorney-at-law and former State Counsel with the Solicitor General’s Department of Trinidad and Tobago. Currently, she is a Caribbean Advocacy Officer at Outright International where she continues to work with regional, grassroots CSOs on initiatives to end GBV, gender inequity and LGBTQI+ discrimination.

Leah served as the Project Officer at the CIWiL Regional Secretariat in 2020, and was instrumental in the formation of new chapters. She is zealous about strenghtening partnerships and supporting the work of CIWiL’s Chapters.

TRACIE JENKINS

Tracie Jenkins is a former banker with 20 years banking experience in Belize. She retired from Heritage Bank in Belize as Manager of International Customer Service and later served as a Corporate Manager and Talent Acquisition Specialist at a reputable money lending company in Belize. Additionally, Tracie has been the Treasurer for many organizations, including Belize Elementary School and Miss Universe Belize.

Tracie is currently the Treasurer of the CIWiL Belize National Chapter, and is motivated to utilize her competencies to advance CIWiL’s mission.

ROBYN LYNES

Robyn is an experienced Attorney who is passionate about her community and non-profits. She is the founder of Core of Hope, a community-based organization that provides support to young persons in need. Robyn previously served as the National Vice Chairman of the Progressive Liberal Party (PLP), and is currently the first female Deputy National Chairman of the PLP.

Since the inception of the CIWiL Bahamas National Chapter in 2019, Robyn has served as the Vice-Chair of the chapter. She is enthusiastic about applying her experience to continue supporting CIWiL’s work at a regional level.

Makini Barrow

With over fourteen years of experience in the Public Sector Service beginning November 2007, and over seven years of demonstrated expertise in the leadership of results-oriented teams in the application and implementation of gender and human rights, political rights, and social affairs development, Makini M. Barrow is a Gender and Social Affairs Development Specialist and an Administrative Officer 1 within the Ministry of National Mobilisation, Social Development, Family, Gender Affair, Youth, Housing and Informal Human Settlement (MONM) and the Liaison officer to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade. Her academic foundation began at the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus, Trinidad and Tobago with a Bachelor of Science in Public Sector Management and International Relations and a Master of Science in Government with distinction, with her thesis focusing on the ‘Understanding the socio-cultural challenges women face in the entry and advancement of Parliament’.

Her activism and work spread wide as she is the Chairperson of Caribbean Women in Leadership SVG National Chapter, a Co-founder and Executive Director of ERAO SVG Inc, a member of CYPAN, and a new member of SVG Planned Parenthood as she believes volunteerism and activism are vital if we going to make the change, we want to see in our vulnerable groups such as us Women and children.

Deima Sanchez

Deima Sanchez is a boots on the ground leader. Her passion towards improving lives, particularly those of women and girls who are most vulnerable, has prompted her to become actively engaged in the implementation of social inclusion projects. Working with international organizations has granted her the invaluable experience as a hands-on Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist of game-changing projects like Spotlight Initiative project, which is funded by the European Union and implemented by United Nations Development Programme. Deima has also served as a chairperson, president and secretary
under the local Government of Belize. Her life experiences both personal and professional have transformed her into a resilient life changer.

Caron Tobiere serves as the chairperson of the CIWiL St Lucia National Chapter.

Caron Tobiere is an Events Consultant by profession with more than 30 years’ experience in this field. Caron’s career spans the legal profession, the hospitality and tourism industry and teacher/training. Caron is a graduate of Napier Edinburgh University with a Masters in Business Administration (Events Management).

Caron has been involved with volunteerism from childhood and has been advocating on a number of issues affecting women in Saint Lucia over the years. Her personal charity provides support to single mothers and girls providing hygiene products and food items from time to time.

Calisha Spencer serves as the chairperson of the CIWiL Antigua and Barbuda National Chapter.

Calisha is a visionary, entrepreneur and quality assurance professional. She is passionate about transformational
leadership, training and development and the evolution of women in politics.

Her experiences have afforded her the distinct opportunity to assist women in her country with alternative educational/learning pathways to further develop themselves. She has dedicated her expertise, time and effort to create initiatives in collaboration with professionals within various fields, geared towards providing support to individuals on how to refine their goals and chart a path to success.

Chair, CIWiL Trinidad and Tobago National Chapter

Jewel Greene-George

Jewel Greene-George serves as the chairperson of the CIWiL Trinidad and Tobago National Chapter.

She is a graduate alumni of the UWI, Cave Hill Campus with a BSc. in Psychology with Management. Her background includes 10+ years in the field of international finance in the Barbados offshore business sector, when she also served as President and PRO of the Trinidad & Tobago Association of Barbados (TTAB). She has 6 years’ experience in Trinidad and Tobago in the accounting profession and more than 10 years’ experience as a certified digital marketer, focusing on helping SMEs and NGOs navigate the digital space.

She specializes in NGO alliance building, communication and knowledge management, and has 8+ years working with regional NGOs to ultimately achieve socio-economic change in the world. She is an ally & activist of the LGBTQIA community and functions as Treasurer of the newly formed NGO, Tobago Pride Association (TPA). She is the Marketing Director of the Tobago Writers Guild (TWG) and also sits on the board of directors of the TWG Publishing House Ltd (TWGPHL). She is a published writer, and a soon to be published author.

Chair, CIWiL Grenada National Chapter

Krystal Clyne

Krystal Clyne serves as the chairperson of the CIWiL Grenada Chapter. She is the Managing Director of Krystal Clyne & Co. Inc. a real estate and business development company alongside the Law Office of George E.D. Clyne. She is a Lecturer of Hospitality and Tourism at the T.A.  Marryshow Community College. She serves as the District Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Champion of The Rotary Club of Grenada. She is a graduate of Nova Southeastern University where she received a Master of Science in International Business Administration (MIBA) and Johnson & Wales University and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Hospitality Management. She is here to serve the community. Having worked and advised in the public, private and family-owned business sectors across a variety of industries, she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience.

Amelia Fearon

Amelia Fearon serves as the chairperson of the CIWiL Jamaica Chapter. She has also served on the first Child Advisory Panel Executive in Jamaica, and was the first female General Secretary of the National Secondary Student’s Council, Jamaica.

Amelia is committed to the upliftment and empowerment of women, and is passionate about advocating for the voiceless.
