Support Transformational Women’s

Leadership in the Caribbean

Why Donate?

Your donation is more than a gift — it’s an investment in gender equality and inclusive leadership for a stronger Caribbean.

Across the region, women remain underrepresented in political office, boardrooms, and decision-making spaces in communities. At CIWiL we are committed to changing that.

When you support us, you are empowering the next generation of women leaders who are:

  • Running for / in political office and changing governance from within.
  • Leading businesses and transforming economies.
  • Driving gender equality, community development, social justice, and innovation at the grassroots level.

Where Your Donation Goes

Every contribution directly supports our mission and impact:

Here’s how your donation makes a difference:

📚 Programmes and Training

We offer skills-building programmes in political leadership, public speaking, financial literacy, digital advocacy, and campaign management. Participants emerge more confident, capable, and connected.

A 2021 Inter-Parliamentary Union report found that targeted training programmes significantly increase women’s electoral success and retention in leadership roles.
Women-led enterprises also outperform on ESG and long-term return metrics, according to McKinsey & Company (2020).

Your donation enables us to host leadership conferences, electoral training, cross-country mentorships, and Young Women in Leadership (YWiL) training sessions.

📊 Research – Informing Action, Driving Impact

At the heart of transformative leadership is knowledge. Your donation supports cutting-edge research that uncovers the structural barriers, gaps, and opportunities that shape women’s leadership in the Caribbean. From data collection  to leadership audits and electoral trend studies, our research generates data that informs policies, programmes, and advocacy efforts regionally.

UN Women and IDB studies show that gender-disaggregated data is essential for crafting effective interventions, yet many Caribbean countries face data limitations that hinder evidence-based policymaking. The Commonwealth Secretariat (2021) emphasises the need for localised gender analysis to strengthen democratic processes and support women’s political empowerment. A Caribbean Development Bank (2020) study found that policies informed by research and gender analysis were twice as effective in promoting inclusive economic growth.

When you give to research, you’re funding the evidence that powers advocacy, shapes strategy, and strengthens results.

📣 Advocacy

We engage in policy dialogue and public education campaigns to dismantle barriers to women’s participation. Our advocacy has helped influence electoral reforms, increased media representation of women leaders, and promoted inclusive decision-making across sectors.

Evidence from the World Bank (2022) shows that women’s representation in leadership leads to more equitable policies and inclusive economic development.
Increased gender diversity in leadership correlates with lower corruption, improved service delivery, and greater political stability.

Your support powers advocacy campaigns, legislative consultations, public forums, and regional partnerships that promote policy reform and gender-inclusive governance.

💼 Staff Salaries

We employ a small but powerful team of Caribbean professionals — many of whom are women leaders themselves — to design, coordinate, and deliver impactful programming across 10+ countries. Sustained investment in dedicated staff ensures continuity, quality, and region-wide reach.

According to UN Women, women’s organisations are often underfunded, with less than 1% of gender equality funding going to grassroots organisations.

Your donation helps close this gap.

Together, We Can Build a More Equitable Caribbean

Every dollar you give contributes to measurable change.
It helps shift norms, support champions, and build the political will and practical capacity needed to transform leadership across the Caribbean.
