Civic activist, consumer rights champion, advocate for women’s rights and empowerment. Hazel Angela Brown was all of these things and so much more. We have lost a true Caribbean icon, leader and stalwart in the movement for community and social development and equality. Even as we mourn our loss, we give thanks for her extraordinary legacy which continues to touch all our lives in Trinidad and Tobago and the wider region.
At the time of her passing Hazel was a CIWiL Board member and Patron of CIWiL’s Trinidad and Tobago National Chapter.
Please join us in expressing our deepest sympathy at this time to her family and friends, the Network of NGOs for the Advancement of Women, everyone who benefitted from her advocacy and work, and all of CIWiL.
