CIWiL Offers Training to Women Candidates Ahead of Trinidad Local Government Elections
In anticipation of Trinidad’s Local Government Elections, the Caribbean Women in Leadership (CIWiL) and the CIWiL Trinidad and Tobago National Chapter are pleased to announce the launch of free Candidate Training Workshops for prospective women candidates, their teams, and women interested in leadership. The free two-day in-person training workshops will take place in August 2022, at venues in South, North and Central, Trinidad.
CIWiL, a non-partisan and independent networking organization is committed to increasing the numbers of women in leadership and decision making in political and civic life across the Caribbean region. The provision of training in support of electoral women candidates is a key initiative of the organization, as it serves to enhance the skills, knowledge and values of women to participate more effectively in the political process and varied leadership spaces.
The 2022 candidate training workshops are aimed at preparing candidates and providing women leaders, with skills and knowledge to strengthen their capacity as social change agents. Workshop topics include women’s transformational leadership, the importance of Local Government, managing a winning campaign, and effective communication skills for leadership and campaigning.
The training workshops will be conducted from 9:00am to 3:30pm on the following dates: August 11th and 12th (South location), 17th and 18th (North location), and 23rd and 24th (Central location).
All training workshops are free of cost. Lunch and training materials will be provided. COVID-19 protocols will be observed.
